I found this Spider lilly blooming out in the garden this morning. The summer heat seems to be taking its toll on some plants while others seem very happy to bask in the sun and heat here.

My Rope plant seems to really like the humidity and heat and has clusters of blooms on several of its hanging vines. The dark purple clusters appear like they are made from plastic or wax as can be seen in the upper middle vine. After several days these clusters open up to reveal the pink flowers visable on the far right vine . This is a weird plant and it is interesting to watch.----------------------------------------------------
This wild Bromelaid on the left is blooming again. It was a gift left by the birds and has generated many baby Bromelaids. It is happy left to itself in the crook of my Avacado tree.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Parks Pearl Cucumber is producing and now has several more baby cucumbers growing. I ate the first one from this plant several days ago and found the taste very good. This is a hybrid and keeps its cream color. It has done very well here and I plan on trying out some more. The seeds were a free gift last year when I ordered some Tomato seeds from Park Seeds.

The last observation from today is the weather seems to have settled into it's Summer time patern. I can look to the West and watch the summer Cumulas clouds grow and rise on the thermal convection of heat lifting moisture from the Everglades. As the summer gets hotter these clouds will grow much larger and turn into cumulonimbus clouds sometimes reaching as high as 39,000 feet up into the atmosphere and causing the severe thunderstorms as they release the tremendous energy they store up. Back porch weather central.
