The weather is starting to change here from the brutal humidity to more tolerable outside working conditions. It is usual for SEPTEMBER to be in the low 80's during the daytime. This starts the growing season here in zone 10.
This Marigold started from very old seed has finally produced a flower. It has been growing all summer without bloom. I figure it too has been waiting for cooler weather.
My newest addition to the garden is this baby Iguana. I found him lounging on one of the Orchid stalks the other morning. I am not real happy to see him show up as I believe they eat plants instead of bugs like the lizards. I also think they can grow several feet long. I am holding out hope that he will relocate himself or I might have to relocate him away from my plants.
The other new addition is a hanging rack I made to support the new Orchids I got from freecycle. They were getting too much sun hanging outside and getting sunburn spots on the leaves. The new suspended hanger allows me to move the Orchids inside my screened cabana shielding them from the suns harshest rays. They seem to like the relocation as several are forming new growth.
Several new projects are in the works this month. More later---sanddune---
